    The Go! Project
    by User Not Found

In Gurnee, Illinois the people of God are moving.  Shari Johnson, a young mom, found out a neighbor was dying of cancer and she was struck with the knowledge that she had this secret, Jesus, and she had never shared that with her neighbor.  So Shari rushed out, bought an apple pie, took it to her neighbor and told him that she had never shared Jesus with him and “oh by the way I have a pie for you!”  Shari engaged in conversation with her neighbor that day and over the course of several other visits Jesus was no longer a secret Shari was keeping to herself.  Shari’s neighbor passed away without Shari knowing if he ever came to know Jesus but Shari had the peace of knowing she had not kept her Jesus a secret.  Shari’s encounter with her neighbor challenged her to open her eyes and look for other opportunities to share Jesus with those in her life.  Suddenly she was having soup dinners at her home and cookie exchanges as she looked to share Jesus with her neighbors who she said “ were waiting for her, they had a hole in their hearts, just as I did.  Mine was filled by Jesus, they need to fill theirs too.”  Shari is living on mission and is part of a bigger group of people in Gurnee, Illinois who have come to realize that God has a Kingdom vision, every person matters to Him.

In 2009 ten churches came together recognizing that they were uniquely positioned to undertake a mission, to reach every household in Gurnee with the love and message of Christ.  Their desire was to saturate Gurnee with the love of Christ so that it would be impossible for a person to live in Gurnee and not encounter Christ!  How did they do this?  They empowered people in their churches, like Shari Johnson, to pray that God would lead them into meeting people where they are, to be open to having spiritual discussions with their neighbors, and to love on their neighbors.  They were encouraged to GO!  To be disciples and share the good news!  Gurnee, Illinois is part of the Christ Together initiative that is stretching across America to reach every man, woman, and child with the transforming news of Jesus Christ.

Explore God - The Austin Expereince
    by User Not Found

Explore.  What does that word conjure up in your mind?  Do you see Christopher Columbus standing at the bow of his boat peering into the mist as land is sighted?  Or maybe you envision Mozart putting new notes to music as rapidly as his hands can write them.  The dictionary provides us with this choice of a definition; to explore is to inquire into or discuss a subject or issue in detail.  So what does it mean then to Explore God? There is no question that all of us at one time have wondered why we are on this earth, what were we created for, what do we do with our lives, that certainly there is more to life than just waking up each day and going to work or school or taking care of our family.  So why not talk about it?  God certainly doesn’t fear our questions or our doubts; actually He is in pursuit of us, so why not engage in genuine, meaningful conversations about Him and our questions with others who also wonder?  In the fall of 2013, 377 churches of a variety of denominations in the greater Austin, TX area did just that.  Conversations about God were held all over the city in thousands of conversation groups!  How cool is that? Television and billboards covered this crazy phenomenon of a city that was intent on discussing who God was.  Using a variety of resources from websites, to videos, to sermons, Austin explored God!  Spiritual awareness was raised in this city of just under 1 million people.  Using the resources compiled here, you too, can lead your city to Explore God!  Go ahead, put on your hiking boots, pull out your compass and get ready to Explore God.  He is waiting!

Mission Carolina. One State. One Church. One Mission. The desire of a group of pastors in South Carolina is to reach the 4.5 million people who call Carolina home with the redemptive news of Jesus Christ. How will they hear it? Not by each church trying single-handedly to share the gospel, but only by joining together as The Church of Jesus Christ. One church, one denomination cannot bring the gospel on it's own, rather by working in partnership, as companions, not competitors, will the people of South Carolina have a chance to hear the good news. By 2020, the plan is that 200 churches across the great state of South Carolina will have joined together as one in reaching ever man, woman, and child of Carolina with the life changing reality of Jesus Christ. Join with us as we strive to be one state, one church, one mission.
